Data analysis using Stata, SPSS, and Minitab

Are you curious about the choice of method or validity of your data analysis?

Contemporary literature in social and behavioral sciences continues to incline towards the use of quantitative and semi-quantitative research paradigms!

Despite the liking and the preference for qualitative research designs, skillfulness in dealing with quantitative data and models is a prerequisite for researchers so that to avoid the incidence of bounded rationality: while evaluating previous researchers and to develop an indigenous stance and the narrative.

For a competent hands-on experience of estimation, interpreting, and reporting results, the following are elaborations on how we approach and regulate the data analysis experience

Relevance and the suitability of methodological choices:

Emphasis is laid upon assessing and illustrating the most appropriate tools and methods, as suggested by different packages of data analysis, and to make sure that selected methods and tools closely approximate analytical needs/ research hypothesis, as suggested in packages of Econometrics, Statistics, or in Qualitative research.

Customization of analytical tools in packages of quantitative data analysis:

Exploring how to use customized options, as available in different packages.

Model estimates and interpreting results:

How to evaluate validity and credibility of estimates, and how estimated models are interpreted to conclude a hypothesis, and to discuss limitations of research.

Reporting results in specimen tabular formats:

The emphasis is laid upon how to report findings and outputs of packages as part of the estimation chapter in the thesis document and how to furnish appendices to communicate the wasted information.

Supplementing digitalized resources:

To facilitate digitalized learning in online tutoring, I supplement graphical tablet, the Microsoft Whiteboard, and screen sharing options, so that student(s) get the similar feel of a live classroom, if there is a further need either of making graphs or of using algebraic manipulations.

About the Supervisor

Has over 20 years of experience while working as Faculty in Quantitative Methods, Econometrics, and Statistics.

Taught series of courses in Computing for social sciences and applied model building to students of Business Administration, Economics, Sociology, Political Science, and Psychology, supplementing different packages such as R, Stata, SPSS, Statgraphics, and Minitab.

Worked as a consultant on two contractual projects.

Reviews and Recommendations

Great experience!
An excellent teacher, very humble, and makes you feel confident in your skills, just after a few lessons.
Being a student of Psychology, quantitive methods and statistics are amongst the core courses of my studies. I started the lessons with dread and had no prior knowledge of quantitative methods, statistics, and SPSS. He made things easy to understand and apply. Now I am very confident and optimistic.
I highly recommend him, if you need to learn Statistics and SPSS for Social Studies and Psychology.

Perfect! A fantastic tutor, who is flexible with the choice of his learning technique, as he realizes the deficiency of his student: taught me quantitative tools using Stata with a comprehensive explanation about their relevance, and how results are interpreted. He has been a very understanding and caring man, who spends time with dedication. Initially, I was skeptical about spending hours with him through the webcam, but he managed things par excellence. It was like I was with him under the same roof.

Much dedicated! He is really helpful in the application of the multinomial model for categorical variables, as I never expected that I will do this so well ….. I don’t have words to express my gratitude. Thanks.

While working on my master thesis in sports physiotherapy, I got invaluable help from him in applied regression modeling, using SPSS. In choosing suitable regression models, validating, and evaluating models he was of great help and showed excellent pedagogic skills in making complex things simple. He was engaged, motivating and always made me feel that my understanding of the topic was his first priority. Very grateful for his help.

Now, during my MBA studies, it was my first priority to seek help from him again when I needed help with quantitative analysis and decision making, regression modeling, and how to report the findings. He showed outstanding commitment to his work, always structured in his teachings, and made sure that I understood both what was on the surface and beneath.

Professional and is highly recommended!

Perfect! I can absolutely recommend him to students who are struggling with quantitative methods and statistics (or just if you want to improve expertise in Stata). He is a really good teacher and explains relatively complex quantitative things using illustrations and in an easy manner. I have learned a lot from his tutoring. Thanks!

He is hardworking, well organized, and carries good communication skills. He has an excellent command of Research methods and Quantitative modeling.

Along with the provision of in-person meetings, facilitation has been created in terms of the one-on-one Webcam and online sessions.

All the supervisors are duly equipped with all needed academic tools such as access to databases of academic literature, packages of the data analysis, and digital/ graphical tablets so that none of the academic requirements is compromised.
